Avenues of Service

Club Service

This group, led by Tom Hughes, is responsible for lining up the fascinating speakers for our meetings and organizing our great club parties and outings.

Community Service

Ken Kranz is leading the community service group this year.  The group is doing an outstanding job of supporting local children, seniors, and the needy, through the schools, Canyon Gate, and the Golden Christian Action Guild.

International Service

Jim McGuigan is leading this group once again.  He's done an outstanding job of using his business trips to Peru to establish an on-going relationship with the Pisco Rotary Club of Peru.  Our club has worked with theirs to fund several service projects in their community, including support of a school for deaf children and some equipment to help their fire department.  The international service committee uses the matching funds process available through our district and Rotary International to greatly leverage our club's contributions to International service projects.  This committee also sponsors our foreign exchange student.

Vocational Service

Judy Orr is leading our award-winning Vocational Service committee this year.  The group continues to provide scholarships for Golden High School students, student-of-the-month awards, excellence in the arts awards, and scholar-athlete awards.  This committee also supports the Young Ameritowne program at Fairmount Elementary and the Swede Johnson scholarship campaign at Red Rocks Community College.  This year we've introduced an exciting new program through Bell Middle School, where Rotarians work with students to discuss the concepts of the Rotary 4-Way Test.
